What is Motivation, firstly?

If you’re struggling with inconsistency in any area of your life or lack of motivation, you’re not alone. It’s because motivation is not long-living, it’s sporadic if anything. Then how do people get things done, if they’re not motivated? Well, they are determined, for one. There is a quote which goes, “No matter how you feel, get up, dress up, show up, and never give up.” This shows that there are going to be many moments when you wouldn’t want to do something, but your commitment will get it done for you.

How to get Motivation?

If you want motivation instantaneously, watching motivational videos on Youtube, or motivational quotes on Pinterest might help. Or, you could take some moments out of your time to visualise yourself achieving your goal which might make you want to take that first, dreadful step towards your goal. However, if you want to stay motivated for a long-term, I would highly suggest committing to your tasks. Now how would someone gain motivation by that, you ask? Well, initially you won’t. Because seeing a lack of your desired results might even get you demotivated. Although, eventually, when you do see changes that’s when you’ll get really motivated. That is when you would not want to miss any day of your workout, or your study session. Thus, if you want to be motivated, try being religious in your activities, so that the fruitful outcome may give you the energy boost you want a.k.a motivation.

What’s the best way to stay motivated?

The utmost tip would be to do what you love. When you like something, you tend to get lost in it. Meaning: it does not seem like a chore. Rather, it feels like a hobby. Secondly, try to push yourself a little. Go a little further than what is required so you may understand your goal more profoundly; it will help you keep going. Moreover, try not to overwork yourself. Push yourself but don’t cross the proportional limit: a point after which you can’t come back to how it was. Try taking things with respect to your comfort zone, so that they don’t feel like a burden.
